With Australia still fighting off COVID variants, a transport company is using a new way to stay efficient
This Australian transport company is using new ways to fight off COVID
A transport company is using Australian sanitiser to ensure it continues to thrive in the wake of COVID-19 lockdowns.
After nearly two and a half years of the pandemic, most people have an appreciation of the importance of maintaining supply chains across Australia.
“Our drivers and prime movers are an essential link of the supply chain that keeps essential goods flowing to those who need them, and protecting drivers and other staff is paramount,” Ron Finemore Transport manager Shane Tucker says.
“With a fleet of 289 prime movers traveling over 1.3 million kilometers every week across the eastern seaboard and more than 900 staff, we take every opportunity to provide the safest possible work environment, and this includes the safety of our customers and the public.”
Rod Finemore Transport delivers essential food and fuel products to major retailers like Ampol, Woolworths and Aldi.
This means Tucker and co know the impact COVID and the flu can have on customers and staff.
The company found an Australian way of ensuring its supply chain can keep moving.
“At the start of 2022, I discovered ViroCLEAR which was the perfect solution for rapidly cleaning the interiors of our trucks,” Tucker says.
“Their fogger dispenses a fine mist of anti-microbial sanitiser that provides a quick and effective clean that saves us valuable time, money and manpower without any compromise to quality.”
The company now fits out all its trucks with the ViroCLEAR Sanitiser & Protectant Fogger, ViroCLEAR Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant that kills COVID within 90 seconds, and ViroCLEAR Ultra Protective Hand Sanitiser, which is a cornerstone of its sanitisation protocol.
“Early on in the pandemic we implemented an extensive COVID response plan including onsite pathologists to conduct PCR tests with quick turnaround times, plus we established our own vaccination hub, undertook daily temperature checks and provided contactless delivery processes,” Tucker says.

“ViroCLEAR has become a key part of our defense plan, especially for high traffic, shared spaces such as offices, lunch and meeting rooms. If one of our staff members contracts COVID or the flu, or is a close contact, then we know we have an effective product that will sanitize the space and make it safe and clean for others who may come into contact with it.
“The fact it is an Australian made and owned product is a bonus, as we like to support our fellow Aussies wherever possible.”
Daniel Seldon from Aussie Pharma Direct, who distributes the ViroCLEAR range, says it’s a gamechanger for the transportation industry.
“Most other sanitisers on the market contain strong chemicals which with prolonged use, can be corrosive to expensive equipment and materials, and can also adversely affect those who use them,” Seldon says.
“The beauty of ViroCLEAR is that it is plant based, yet still able to kill 99.99 per cent of germs and bacteria. The hospital grade surface disinfectant is ARTG listed and offers broad spectrum anti-microbial protection with rapid kill times for COVID, SARS, Rhinovirus and Candida Albicans, to name a few.
“With the BA. 4 and BA. 5 Omicron variants on the rise, getting on the front foot is a good idea to minimize the impact on lives, livelihoods and businesses.”
